| Well, my daughter is just as cute as they come! Check out the pics
OBTW! Gracie is into EVERYTHING nowadays. She knows how to flush the toilet. WHILE I'M ON IT and can unroll and entire roll of toilet paper. Angel?? Hmmm...
| It's November 10 - A few things have happened since I last journaled. I think... Still playing a monster amount of Settlers of Catan at work...apparently efficiency is hard to come by at GOCC because everyone seems shocked that I have nothing to do, but what can I do? On the home front - the holidays are nearing and with them brings in-law troubles...if holidays aren't the busiest time trying not to hurt anyone's feelings by having an equal amount of time while enjoying yourself is just exhausting and only exacerbated by the fact that we have an adorable one year old. Clint is still subbing and it's picking up quite regularly now - so I have no one to do my housework! HA! He's made some very good connections at an elementary school in Constantine, so we're hoping that fall or early spring will bring wonderful, long-awaited good news! Gracie Update! Gracie is now a one-year old! We managed to keep her alive, extremely healthy and active and relatively cheerful! We are proud parents. She has started walking and attempting to venture out on her own now and is it ever cute! One-year pictures are tonight - she's still just as beautiful as always! | | |
| Well, here I am - Monday afternoon - 12:30pm - been playing Settlers of Catan Online for about an hour now as I have finished all my work - my boss is at a conference, so she can't drum up a project for me - not only is the Winter brochure finished, but the Summer one as well...I suppose I could design a Fall 07 one...no customers and 4 1/2 more hours of "work". All caught up with my ACCESS course and going crazy. I might take a lunch break today as it's insane to sit here for four more hours. A two-person job at GOCC is really a 1 person job in a lot of other places - like MY BRAIN. Gracie Update! Gracie has officially learned to kiss - or she knows what she's supposed to be doing when she hears the word. It's more like a smack really. Too cute. This is where her picture would be if we had a digital camera. - | | |
| Well, well, yeah...uh, let's see. So my new boss is moving to St. Louis Missouri which stinks as she is the only meaningful social interaction I get during the day. Now I don't know who I'm gonna talk to. The walls probably. Although I do believe a webcam may come into play, so that'll be interesting. Not much is new in the Young household, Clint has an interview this afternoon for a part-time job to do when he's not subbing. Now, hopefully he'll get paid to walk around Home Depot drooling and dreaming! Gracie Update! We are attempting to plan the first birthday party event which won't be an event, as we can't afford one that big . The hardest part about getting married and then having a baby is the in-laws. The splitting up of family time and trying to make sure everyone's happy and getting to see everyone equal amounts of time. We have real "special" times during holidays. So, we are going to try and get through the birthday party with minimal amounts of hurt feelings. | | |
| Yep, that's right folks, no longer "Thoughts from the Switchboard" it's "Thoughts from the Distance Learning Center." Gone are the days of working by myself from 2pm - 10pm with no one to talk to. Gone are the days of playing POGO Euchre for a good 2 hours every night. Gone are the days of being able to do my devotions at work. Gone are the days of not seeing my hubby bubby till 10:30 at night. Oh, I will not miss those days!
Hooray! I'm moving up in the world. I am now the official "Executive Assistant to the Director of Distance Learning." - Who by the way, is priming me to become the Director - as was told to me on my first day! AAACK!! How exciting! I am now the glue that holds the on-line course department of Glen Oaks Community College (affectionately termed the "HeeHaw of Community Colleges" - but yes we do have on-line courses!) together. My new hours are that of a normal person, Gracie has a terrific baby-sitter and I now play "Settlers of Catan" on-line for an hour during my lunch period....no more Euchre... Okay, lets talk about the SNOW that was falling down this morning on my way to work. It's only October freakin' 12th! Now, I love snow, but it doesn't stop until March, and that's like 6 months away. Hmmm....it's going to be a long winters nap, I think... Gracie Update! Gracie has taken her first steps and is desperate to be out on her own. Vocabulary consists of "Hi!", "Buh-bye!", "Dada", "MOMMA" (usually only used when she's desperate and I'm not reading her signals right!) and "Baby". She loves her baby-sitter and her baby-sitters son, Robbie. He hugs and kisses her every morning. An extremely affectionate fellow. Her first birthday will be in weeks! I can hardly believe it! Clint is already "pushing" for another one! Of course Gracie needs a sibling. Dad asked if I could get him a boy this time. Told him I'd do my best... This is a summer picture in mourning of our impending winter season.
